Your Journey Through Hallownest Step by Step

First Steps

1. Open game in browser and click play to enter the dark world of Hallownest as the brave little hero.

2. Read the available area you are in because beta version limits exploration to Kings Pass, Dirtmouth and early Crossroads only.

3. Move cautiously from the very start because beta version has fewer safety features than the full game.

Exploring and Fighting

1. Use WASD or Arrow Keys to move your hero through the dark platforming sections and corridors.

2. Press X or K key to jump across platforms and time every jump very carefully before committing.

3. Press Z or K key to attack nearby enemies with your nail weapon and watch enemy patterns closely.

4. Do not rush into groups of enemies because shorter attack range means you will take damage very easily.

5. Wait for clear openings before striking which will enable you to deal damage without getting hit back.

6. Collect SOUL by hitting enemies slowly and carefully which will enable you to eventually use Focus to heal.

7. Find safe spots away from enemies before using Focus to heal because it takes much longer in beta version.

Managing Your Three Lives

1. Treat each of your three attempts with maximum respect because losing all three ends your entire session.

2. Move slowly through every new section and observe enemy positions before moving into their range.

3. Use positioning and dodging as your main defense rather than trying to tank hits with aggressive play.

Game Controls

•  Press WASD or Arrow Keys to move your hero left right and through the dark underground terrain 

•  Press X or K Key to jump onto platforms and across dangerous gaps in the environment 

•  Press Z or K Key to attack enemies with your nail in close range combat encounters 

•  No additional ability controls are available in this early beta build of the game

Survival Rules You Must Follow

•  Move slowly always because rushing in beta version with limited invincibility frames gets you killed very fast 

•  Learn every enemy attack pattern before engaging because the beta has less room for error than full game

•   Never use Focus heal near enemies because slow activation time means you will take damage while healing

•  Use positioning to dodge attacks completely rather than relying on invincibility frames to absorb hits 

•  Prioritize exploring safely over finding secrets because in beta every mistake costs very precious lives

•  Observe the terrain very carefully before jumping because some platforms are not obvious in darker areas
